Birthday Baby Gorillas

Monday was my birthday and as we had Han, Jamie and Autumn staying we went to the Bronx Zoo for the afternoon. It was our third trip in a couple of months (as my brother says still trying to prove to Matt the annual membership will pay for itself!).

However, it was the most special trip as we got to see the baby gorillas. One was born on Mar 10 and the other Apr 17. Different mothers, same father.

Here's a photo of proud mum feeding her baby:

Also given this post is about the zoo, here is one of my favorite ever photos of Ethan taken on our first trip to the zoo by Auntie Lucy:

Overall it's becoming a must see tourist destination and a fun place to spend a few hours with Ethan. Although given his favorite animals seem to be the fish, we probably only need visit the local diner!

Stepping Stones Children Museum

Ethan and I recently visited the Stepping Stones children's museum in CT. He had so much fun we signed up for a year and recently took Han, Jamie and Autumn during their visit.

It's a great place, a bit like a science museum for young children. Lots of sensory type activities and a great place to burn off some energy for a couple of hours.

Ethan's favorite part is the water area. Although Mummy learnt a valuable lesson about taking a change or clothes (although Matt seemed more bothers about Ethan's saturated trousers than he did!). Photos from our recent trip below:

The big announcement!

For non Facebook users (I know you all know this now but not all have seen the picture!)

UK visit

We had a lovely visit back to the UK at the start of April (catch up blog time!) Time was tight as always, but we managed to catch up with a lot or close family and friends. Ethan had a brilliant time (bar the jet lag) and thoroughly enjoyed being focus of attention for the period.

Here are some of my favorite photos:

Chilling with Lexi Parker during a Parker/Newnes get together over breakfast

Looking out at the boats over the canal while on an afternoon out with Auntie Susie

Walking Oscar (uncle Owain and Auntie Sally's god dog)

Our next trip home won't be until Christmas which made goodbyes even harder than normal but the adventure continues!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the USA!

Easter's just a normal weekend here, no Friday or Monday off so feels a little strange. But we've ended up having an action packed day!

Brunch and an egg hunt
We had our friends round for breakfast and an Easter egg hunt for Ethan and Lucy.

Walk on the beach
The beach we usually take Bruno to closes today for dogs. So we took Bruno for a last trip before the autumn. Bruno has recently learnt to swim so he had a great time in the water.

Dinner outside
We went to a Mexican called Bar Taco in Port chester for our Easter Sunday dinner, not very traditional but very tasty. We actually sat outside on the deck by the boats which was lovely, a little chilly but patio heaters helped.

Planting sunflowers

Today we hosted playschool and we planted sunflowers. Now the challenge is to keep them alive! Here's Ethan and his friends having fun with the activity!
