Big boy dog walk

I've finally reached the part of my pregnancy where things get a bit more complicated with Bruno. I've stopped carrying Ethan in his carrier which means no off leash wood walking for Bruno. However last week I had a brain wave, I could compromise, push Ethan to the woods in his stroller and then Ethan could walk the loop while Bruno runs riot.

Well the first trip was a success. Ethan loved his big boy walk, the whole trip took an hour meaning it will not be a daily walk but as a once a week thing with me will work out well.

Here are some photos of Ethan enjoying his walk.

Free cycling

Today I got my first road side freebie. In our area it's common place for people to leave at end of their driveways what they no longer want. So I picked up a pink motorized car for Ethan's friend Lucy. After overcoming the challenge of how to get it home with stroller, Ethan and Bruno I carried Ethan and put the car in the stroller. The next challenge will be whether the car ever makes it to Lucy as Ethan seems to like it!

Independence Day

Last Friday was July 4, Independence Day. After Thanksgiving it feels like the second most popular holiday. Matt got Friday and Monday off work and as Mum and Dad are here we went up to Vermont for three nights and stayed in Manchester. We fell in love with Vermont, the scenery was beautiful and a very relaxing weekend.

Here are some photos.

Ethan and Matt at the top of Mount Equinox.

Ethan wasn't as impressed as we were to find a diet coke bottle with his name.

We took a walk to a lake near out hotel.

Ethan loved throwing stones in the lake.

The scenery really was stunning.

And our co travelers.

Sometimes modern technology isn't enough

It's been a strange month emotionally. Just when you feel settled things happen that make you wish you were home. Friends go through tough times and you're not there to give then a hug or buy them a pint. Friends go through great times and you're not there to pat them on the back or give their new baby a hug. These times are tough and can make us feel isolated. Although luckily Mum and Dads arrival was well timed! Modern technology is great, FaceTime brilliant. Yesterday Susie read Ethan a story via it and it reminded me how amazing and lucky we are to have it but some times it's not enough. Anyway hopefully we have managed to show the people who have been through these tough and good times how much we care still... You know who you are!
