Truck day

A week ago we went to the White Plains truck show. This is a local event hosted by the local authority with all their trucks on display. A great contribution to the community. As you can imagine, Ethan had a great time. He got to sit in a fire truck and beep the horn, spray the hose and put rubbish in the rubbish truck! Photos below.

And yes, Joshua and I were there too!

Mothers Day 2015

Matt was away for Mother's Day, so I was left to my own devices with the boys.

I got my purchased present a day early due to Ethan's enthusiasm!

He had made me a necklace at school.

The day started early at 545 and we were out running Bruno at 725 (so much for a lay in on Mothers Day!) Ethan had a swimming lesson and then we headed up to Muscoot Farm (or Old MacDonalds as he referred to it).

They were shearing the sheep today.

Ethan enjoyed sitting on the tractor.

We had a picnic lunch and walked around the farmers market. We saw all the animals (twice!).

Then once the boys were in bed I ordered Thai and followed it up with a large chocolate brownie purchased in the market. As Ethan would say, delicious!

Three month catch up

So I knew I hadn't posted in a while but hadn't appreciated it had been nearly three months. A big apology to my (two) dedicated readers!

So what have we been up to since February. Well the long long winter finally came to a close. Ethan's school allows for four morning closures and this year they had six meaning they had to give two mornings back. The manager said in her 14 years of being at the school that had never happened! That's how many snow days we had this year.

The end of winter has seen getting out with Bruno much easier. I take him and the boys for a run on Mon/wed/fri and have a dog walker, Gina, who comes Tues/Thurs.

We've been on holiday. Twice! A family holiday to Florida with the Newnes' and a more relaxing holiday to Mexico where it was less busy and more lazy!

We've had our first visitors of 2015, Susie and Tony, who came to stay for ten days in March which was lovely. Ethan loved having Auntie Susie and Uncle 'Policeman' Tony at his disposal!

We've eaten out too much! Bar Taco had become Ethan's favourite destination!

Matt and I got a date night when Susie and Tony were here meaning I got my first trip out in the Porsche!

We had our friends round for Easter Egg brunch and egg hunt.

Joshua turned six month old so the delights of solid food introduction have begun, baby led weaning style meaning he feeds himself and gets to regulate his own food intake but also try lots of different foods.

Ethan had his first school photos done!

Unfortunately the slightly dodgy Barber's haircut hadn't grown out!

And finally Matt had travelled A LOT! The holiday in Mexico was well earned and deserved and a great opportunity for Ethan to get lots of time with Daddy.

We've now been living here 18months. Although we're scheduled to be here until October that should be getting extended until next summer. Although we miss everyone dearly, we're having a great time and it's too soon to come home yet!

Rockefeller State Park

Today was due to be a lovely day. Uninspired by our usual nice day options, I asked on my local yoga mums facebook group where was good to go hiking with dog and toddler. This state park was suggested about a 30m drive from our house. So off we went. It was a dogs on leash place (boo) but we let bruno off for a swim in the river. Ethan alternated by being carried in the backpack and walking. Joshua alternated between sleeping, feeding and observing. Overall a great two hours spent on a beautiful day.

Avalanche!

Here's what happens when it snows a lot! Luckily my car was outside and didn't  get blocked in garage!

The deer problem...

Apparently we may be in a minority liking our local deer friends. Here's a copy of a letter that's circulating the neighbourhood!

Ethan's art show

Last Thursday night Ethan's school hosted an art show of the children's work. Held between 5.30-6.30 is not the best time to be taking along a toddler and baby but we attended and it was much better than I expected! Here's some photos of Ethan's class (Middle 2s) and their art work.
